Ian Stowe played soccer for FC Richmond and William & Mary.
In January of 2012, a brain tumor was discovered on Ian’s brain stem. The tumor was biopsied at Inova Fairfax Hospital, and after a week of pathology testing, Ian was diagnosed with Germinoma, a rare type of germ cell tumor typically resulting from a failure of germ cells to migrate properly in the body.
Ian returned home to Richmond to to receive chemothereapy and radiation treatments. Ian is now in the radiation phase of treatment and continues to do well.
Many of Ian’s former teammates at William and Mary have started StoweStrong to help benefit Ian and cancer awareness. To follow StoweStrong, visit www.stowestrong.com.
